Our take
I grabbed the Traktor Kontrol X1 used, and it’s a solid add-on for my Traktor setup. The touch knobs are great for tweaking effects in real time, and the track browsing is smooth. But as a standalone controller, it’s limited—no jog wheels or mixer section, so you need other gear to mix. The build feels a bit plasticky, but for the price, it’s a useful tool for FX junkies. Just keep in mind it’s strictly an FX and navigation unit, not a full controller.
