About this product
The Arturia BeatStep is a 16-step analog sequencer and pad controller with MIDI, USB, CV, and Gate I/O. Features transport controls and sequencer functionality. Compact design with 16 pads for triggering notes or drums. USB compatible for easy integration with DAWs. Analog signal path for authentic sound control.
Our take
The Arturia BeatStep is a compact and capable sequencer/pad controller. The 16 pads are responsive and great for triggering beats or melodies. I use it to sequence my hardware synths via CV/Gate, and it works flawlessly. The transport controls are handy for live performance. However, the pads are a bit small for aggressive finger drumming, and there's no built-in display, so you'll rely on your DAW for feedback. At $89, it's a great value for adding sequencing to your setup.
