The BeatStep Pro is a powerful step up from the original. With 64 steps and three tracks, I can build complex sequences for drums, bass, and melody simultaneously. The pads feel great for finger drumming, and the CV outputs seamlessly connect to my analog gear. The noise gating feature helps clean up signals, though the interface can be menu-divey at times. At $218, it's a fantastic value for the control it offers. The lack of a built-in display for patch names is a minor inconvenience, but overall, this is a versatile hub for any hardware setup.
