Our take
The Arturia KeyStep is a fantastic little sequencer/keyboard controller. The 32 synth-style keys are responsive, and the built-in sequencer is intuitive for creating patterns. I love the CV/Gate outputs for controlling modular gear—it's a gateway to analog synthesis. The chord mode is fun for live jams. However, the keys are small and not velocity-sensitive, which limits expressiveness. Also, no aftertouch. For $110, it's a powerful tool for sequencing and controlling hardware.
